Community Engagement – School Visits |
Dear Northumberland Park residents,
Over the last two days, we had the privilege of delivering Junior Roadwatch sessions at two local primary schools: Harris Primary Academy School and Lee Valley Primary School, working with pupils from Year 5 and Year 6. The sessions focused on speed awareness, the use of speed cameras, road safety, and the importance of following traffic rules. The pupils were outstanding. Their behaviour was exceptional throughout, and they showed genuine enthusiasm, curiosity, and maturity. They were highly engaged, eager to learn, and demonstrated a strong understanding of why road safety matters and why rules are in place to keep everyone safe. A heartfelt thank you goes to the school staff for their warm welcome and support, and to our Haringey colleagues for their presence, commitment, and teamwork. The sessions were extremely well received and were a powerful reminder of the value of partnership working within our community. As a result 11 motorists were stopped and spoken to by the children in relation to their speed.
